ABOUT US

THE THREE NORTHS OF PERU, THE AMAZON, THE ANDEAN AND THE COASTAL, OFFER US MANY WORLDS TO KNOW, TO EXPLORE AND, OF COURSE, TO PRESERVE.

AT PERU TRES NORTES WE ARE COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABLE TOURISM THAT RESPECTS OUR NATURAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE.

Gocta Andes Lodge

HISTORY

In January 2009 we started the construction of Gocta Lodge. It was a rainy winter in a village, Cocachimba, which still had no electricity. But in October of that same year we inaugurated our first ten rooms…

Chachapoyas was a very unknown destination and visitors were scarce. But we were convinced that we had a treasure in front of us. And in a few years, Gocta, Kuelap and the rest of the attractions in the area began to spread throughout Peru and the world.

Ten years later, we are proud to have contributed to this diffusion and to be the promoters of a model of tourism that respects the environment and works closely with local communities.

Gocta Andes Lodge

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

We prioritize the hiring of local personnel and their job training. Nearly 90% of those who work at Gocta Lodge are from the district of Valera or neighboring provinces. This represents an opportunity for quality employment in a region where traditionally there have been no job offers.

We promote fair trade, with the exhibition and sale of local and regional handicrafts. You can purchase the products at the reception desk or, on special dates, at the weavers’ fairs that we hold in our gardens.

CERTIFICATIONS

At Gocta Andes Lodge we are proud to have the seal of the German certifier TourCert, which demonstrates our good practices of environmental sustainability and social responsibility. We have placed special emphasis on the rational use of water and electricity, the reduction in the use of plastics, especially single-use plastics, the rotation of sheets and towels appealing to the sensitivity of the guest and respect for the native flora and fauna.
